First News Debate

The First News Debate will see a panel of MPs face questions from school pupils. Groups of KS3 students will be taken on a tour around the Houses of Parliament, before quizzing the country’s decision-makers, at Speaker’s House.
We want to invite ten of our subscribing schools to the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday 20 March 2013 to join The First News Debate. The event will give school pupils the chance to put a panel of politicians on the spot – quizzing them with their own questions, on topics of their choice.
The debate will be chaired by House of Commons Speaker John Bercow.
Each school can bring four pupils, who will all receive a tour around Parliament, on Budget Day, before heading to the Speaker’s House for the event itself.
For your chance to get involved, register your interest by emailing [email protected] with ‘First News Debate’ in the subject bar – places will be awarded on a first come, first served basis!
More details will be announced very soon!
PLEASE NOTE: This is a free event, but schools are responsible for their own travel costs.
